Guest stevo
Not wishing to enter into a pointless debate about chokes so last comment-yes the pattern would be good to powder an edge on clay at 40 yards - but first you need to hit it and the one pellet from a half choked gun will break the clay just the same whilst making it a darn sight easier to hit. Just my opinion mind. ok then ..........

Just my opinion mind. Have you ever shot ABT etc the clay will be 40 yards or more away before you start moving the gun let alone shooting it , the best shots are not relying on one pellet to break a clay they want a dense but even pattern, indeed I have picked up more than enough intact clays with holes in to know that 1 or even 3 or 4 may not be enough to break it
buze
It seems my B25 (trap) chocked full and extra full doesn't pattern as tight as the OP. Must be the fiber cartridges I used when I tried that tho, that small plastic cup is bound to be better at keeping the shots together for a bit longer... Smokersmith
This debate reminds me of Boycott commentating on the recent tour to SA ... "Why do they try to hit it so hard .... You only get 4, you don't get 8 you know!!" Visible chip is all that's required. I use 1/2 and 3/4 on trap (inc. OT) and most of my kills are obliterated. Some like to choke up more, and if that's what gives the confidence, then all power to them. IMHO The mental side is far more important than most choke/shot size decisions, so go with what makes you confident and smash 'em up!!
