Madcowz
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/shropshire/6631223.stm "The suspected gunman was found dead at the scene close to his flat and a weapon was recovered. Neighbours said they saw the gunman in the early hours of the morning on the roof of a garden shed throwing stones at the windows of his flat. He was described as a quiet fishing and shooting enthusiast." My full sympathies go out to the policemans family. A very tragic event. Sounds like the gunman was a registered Shotgun or firearms owner. I do hope the BASC and CPSA are already preparing their statements when the press works themselves up into a frenzy of hatred agaisnt us "barbaric shooting nutcases" that they like to make us out as. Always seems that the two associations we pay to keep going, who are their to protect our sport are always hard to find on occasions like this. /Mad
rarms
I'm not sure we will see anything happen. Unfortunately shootings are getting far more common and in a week or so another will have happened that will be the next story. This one would probably not have even made National news if it wasn't for the fact a police officer had died! Remember last week a 16 year old shot his sister. Haven't heard anything more about that and AFAIK they didn't even actually identify the 'gun' used in that murder.

rarms
Seems like perhaps the chap shouldn't have been allowed a license!: Lifted from here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml....xml&page=3 >George James, 53, a regular at the Plough, claimed that Mr Medlicott was well known to police for what he >described as "fireballing incidents". >He added: "I'm not surprised by what has happened. He seemed a bit of a psycho to me". >One of his near neighbours described him as "a druggie and a bit of a troublemaker" >and claimed that drug users were often seen around his maisonette. I read somewhere that the gun was a replica that had been converted to fire live ammo
Boston
Sadly there is always going to be nut cases like this to drag decent law abiding gun users down. Yes, as with other's I feel for the policemans family, but as the old saying goes, you should never tar people with the same brush
