roebuck1
So whats everyone's preference this time of the year? I have shot a few foxes in the last couple of days with the fox cub distress call on the fox pro. The first (dog fox) sat in the long grass watching. And another, that I didn't get a shot at but came running into the call from the wood and out into the field, reached the call and then turned around and went back to the wood. My guess vixen? WelshMike
mmmmm....depends on the fox really. I tend to try the cub distress a fair bit more this time of the year. Ironically I shot a vixen a couple of weeks ago that came out to my recording of a vixen mating call but had ignored the cub distress. She was barren so that probably explained it. I shot 4 last year (2 dogs and 2 vixens) within 20 minutes and the second I played the cub distress I had a fox trying to break the land speed record to see what was going on. Trial and error (as usual). Happy hunting buddy.
Dougy
I would suggest that if you get one coming in to the call you switch the call off. They will normally advance towards where they heard the call from slightly slower.
