Evil Elvis
Had a go at enlish sporting last sunday, 70 clays, 7 stands all very different and challenging, managed 39 out of 70, wasnt too bad , if anyone fancies a meet up sometime, its not aesthetically pleasing but challening. Shot my first mini clays and got them!!!! quartering rabbits...no probs, rabbits at range straight across from right to left...pants at!!!!

Shot my first mini clays and got them!!!! quartering rabbits...no probs, rabbits at range straight across from right to left...pants at!!!! An interesting point here for clay shooters who miss. Shot my first mini clays and got them. he says (why) The answer is simple a mini clay quartering out looks a long way away and going like a rocket. so what do you do. you tend to give it more lead and whack it. in a blind panic. most clays are missed behind but a mini decieves you. its probably nearer than you think. and slowing down quickly. I love mini clays.
Evil Elvis
B) i thought that they looked like they were going faster so gave them more lead...right or wrong theory but it worked. Any tips on the rabbits?more lead again? What about those bloody teals?

RABBITS. start with your gun lower than the rabbit track dont swing back to the trap you will have to play catch up. pick it up 2 thirds down the track swing and fire shoot at its feet and keep your gun moving. TEAL easy. gun to shoulder or not, start with your gun low, when the teal comes up swing the gun up from your waist, bend your body as soon as the clay dissapears behind the gun (called blotting it out) pull the trigger and keep that gun moving up. if you can see the teal when you pull the trigger you will miss it. dont be tempted to look down the side of the gun to see the clay break. you will shoot down the side. when the clay breaks if your gun is 10 ft above it you are getting the hang swing it man

death from below
Mr stalker, i'm not too far away from the shoot and would like to meet up with a few like minded PW members. I can't make the 20th but I would def be up for a meet after on another sunday. I know that there are quite a few essex bods on these forums so maybe a few could meet. I don't do clays very often so it would be a challenge. DFB

PhilPot
i went to that shoot in chadwell st mary for the 1st time in about 8 years and i can see now why its been so long , the targets were too slow and pretty easy and the people there were so irritating, over analysing every shot and taking clays that they havent paid for and leaving cartridge shells all over the place, i wont be going there again in a hurry and them gypsies on the site have got so much more rubbish on there then last time, i think they are trying to make there own mount everest :(
Evil Elvis
yeah its not the prettiest but had some challenging layouts.
sodit
I live in grays and I had a look at that shoot didnt like it at all. The organiser seems a decent bloke but some of the shooters Got to agree with PhilPot on this. mind you to me the birds seemed ok but not that good a shot meself (hence sodit).
