Axe
Id save myself £120 and go with the Nikko Stilring alternative.
JohnGalway
I have the Viper 4-16x50 on the .223 at the moment. Had it out foxing a couple of nights ago, got a vixen at 75 yards using Lightforce Striker on top. Didn't use or need the IR function. Lovely chunky reticle (I don't find the Christmas tree ret busy or interfering for my eye, other eyes may), almost covers up the 0.75 inch Birchwood Casey Shoot & See dot at 100 yards on 10X mag. I've not had it long. Just used it at night the one time, and 3 or 4 times on targets. Not used it at dusk (yet), and certainly not at dawn So far I like it a lot. However, to be able to reccomend it online to another shooter (Conor has looked through mine in daylight) I'd need to use it longer. If you can, take a peek through one. I don't see the need to go any bigger than 56mm obj, I only use 50mm myself, personal choice though Good luck with whatever you decide on MM

rarms
Must admit I am thinking of getting one for a new stalking rifle. I have yet to try one at Dusk and Dawn but so far a lot of people who's opinions I trust are raving about them.

Dunkield
I would look out for a secondhand 8x56 S&B, if you want to gather light, unless you need target turrets and zoom etc
Poacher
I would look out for a secondhand 8x56 S&B, if you want to gather light, unless you need target turrets and zoom etc Not quite sure why you'd want such hi-mag for dusk conditions, you won't be able to use it !
