ElvisThePelvis
My Hawke Binos have died and are being replaced, what do you guys use to clean the glass? I had been using sunglasses cleaner and its dumped a loud of crack on the glass which is seemingly impossible to move, I don't want to make the same mistake again... Savhmr
gently washed in soapy water with a micro fleece cloth (waterproof bins). Rubbing any lens dry can only serve to damage the lens coatings. You can also make up your own lens cleaning solution using a little wetting agent (a drop of fairy liquid will do) with 75% distilled water and 25% IPA. Soak a soft tissue or cotton bud and gently wipe the lens, lightly drying with a clean microfleece cloth. Failing that, most camera shops stock little bottles of lens cleaning agent in a small bottle usually with a sponge applicator, and some lens tisues to dry. Lens pens are ok for emergencies but wouldn't rely on one all the time plus they also need cleaning every now and then.
