Wingman
Sorry mate, I bought a Bosch one but it was rubbish... Had enough power to skim one of my hedges but too limp-wristed to get through any tough branches. Sold it on ebay and bought a cheap petrol one which has been great. scotslad
Musty admit i've got a bosch 1 and think its great, will depend wot ur cutting but if ur just taking yearly growth of its no problem and cut the odd thicker stem. All depends wot ur doing with it. Electric are not really designed for hacking into older woody growth.
four-wheel-drive
I try to trim my hedges and bushes twice a year first one about this time of year and then when it stops growing so not old thick wood if this helps.
McSpredder
Mine is a Titan, £35 from Screwfix. It has cut a lot of very tough stuff over the past two years, and is still going perfectly.

four-wheel-drive
In the end I went for the Ryobi RHT5050 500W electric hedge trimmer it cost me £43 from Homebase with two year guarrantee not had a chance to try it yet as it has been a bit damp out. Thanks to all of those who replied with there thoughts as there was no consensus I went with the one that looked ok to me in my price range.
