Savhmr
Firearms which allow the firing of more than 21 rounds without reloading will be placed into the prohibited category (EU Category A). They will however be permitted under the following conditions; a) the target shooter participates in shooting competitions organised by an official shooting sport organisation recognised by a Member State or by an internationally established and officially recognised shooting sport federation; and b) the target shooter is a member of a recognised shooting club, regularly practises target shooting and has been doing so for a t least twelve months. Surely this essentially precludes anyone who would like to get into such target competition from doing so unless they are already a member and have been for 12 months. In other words, it's as good as a ban. How is that good news? Perhaps we'll see HGVs banned from our roads too? They've taken more lives in France this past week than legally held self loading firearms have taken in the UK over the past few decades. deadeye18
So a pro shooting organisation welcomes restrictions eh .If it affects the uk or not the only thing a shooting org should welcome is a defeat of government legislation. Savhmr
they should have no say in what we can have, we have left them, Unfortunately, we haven't, not yet. We haven't even enacted Article 50 yet and it's 2 years from the day we do before we officially leave so any new firearms laws apply to us equally. We've held a referendum where the British public has voiced their opinion to leave the EU but until the day we do, we're all bound by EU legislation as enshrined within UK law.
