wymberley
At some point between the previous post and now, I bought one. Then it all went pear shaped. Long story short, it's been up for grabs with no interest shown, possibly because Covid hasn't helped, on the RFD's 'for sale' rack. Another tale curtailed and I've 'borrowed' it back, buying some more ammo; in addition to that which I'd returned with the rifle. Initially, there were two problems. One was that every so often it could be very difficult to close the bolt - shear less half a turn type difficult. Then, also far too frequently, you'd get a flyer. I didn't really want it back, but figured if I kept the range down it would do as a temporary measure until the second 22WMR - the first was aborted - turns up.. The big problem we have is ammunition being solely Hobson's choice (thanks, again, GMK). Three of us then had a range afternoon and pooped off some 80 rounds. We were all in total agreement. There was no inconsistency with closing the bolt on the newly bought ammo, but it remained on the old. We had been at short range to do the job in hand and it was blowing a houlli - hard to keep oneself still, never mind the guns - and no obvious flyers - originally, the groups were pretty good at 135 yards, it was just too many flyers which you knew were not down to you - were noticed but the new ammo did seem to group better. As soon as I'm able I'll get back out on a better day and have another go at range. Best if I keep quiet, but I can't wait to give it another go. I've made damned sure to note the Lot numbers.
