greenergp
I am loading with steel shot , i have used the data from the cheddite book, Longshot, MG42 wad 1oz of no2 steel. I have checked the case and cut one down it looks exactly the same as the Cheddites i have used previously, they also have the same volume, i filled the cheddite case with salt and then did the same to the Eley case and they were exactly the same. I have loaded one and will do a few more and try them out.

MAB1954
From what you say about case volume and internal comparison I think your load is ok, I assume you have correct column height and crimps are good. The MG42 wad is used in various PT cases and Longshot data is around for Cheddite, Fiocchi, Federal and Rio cases. I use a MG42/Lonshot/steel shot load in a Cheddite 70mm case and it works fine about 1350/1400fps claimed by Ballistic Products data I think. You may need a drop of super glue to keep primer in if using Cheddite CX2000 primers. Just had a look in the BPI Advantages manual and there is a Rio case/Longshot/MG42/steel shot load listed with a BPGS gas seal under wad and claims 1455fps. greenergp
I have tried a few loads from the BPI book that have the BPGS gas seal, but i could never get the ******* to crimp properly. I will need to have another go and see if i can get them to stay shut
