figgy
First i have heard of a new SX,wonder what improvements they've made as the old one was good. Looking at the picture the fore end is the same so is the stock and butt pad i cant see them changing the barrel,so apart from a redesigned trigger guard what have they done? johnnytheboy
The cartridge loading lever is the same as the maxus, not pointy like the old one that snagged gloves, foresight bead, cartridge release button, butt pad and trigger shroud
figgy
So basically a maxus wearing a Winchester badge.

figgy
After looking online only thing ive found is its listed as a 3+1 so a four shot not 4+1 as the SX3 so magazine must be smaller. It just does not seem enough of a change to me to warrant a new name tag. apart from the bolt handle and release button as Johnnyoftheboy says i still cant see any improvements. the maxus was never a better gun than the SX3 only had mag cut off extra and some had speed load. The listings for what is a new gun are very quiet. Edited October 18, 2016 by figgy
johnnytheboy
So basically a maxus wearing a Winchester badge. It always was figgy, the maxus got the inflex pad, shell stop, the foresight bead, locking forearm then half way through production the new shell carrier but the rest of the guns were nearly identical Maybe someone can help with this but I'm sure they were all the same as an earlier gun as well, maybe a browning Phoenix, check the bolt on them, they are all the same just different packaging, but maybe better marketing as they have went along lol The most reliable softest kicking shotgun in the world
figgy
If my SX3 had fit me better i would still have it,lad i sold it to still has it with Kicks Highflyer and loves it. Its never put a foot wrong soft shooting and quicker than my trigger finger.
johnnytheboy
I loved mines as well just couldn't get a gloved finger in the trigger during the winter! As long as this isn't made in turkey I might buy it!
WinchesterDave
Only thing I wish the SX3 had was that magazine cut off that the Maxus has! The amount of times I've swapped from duck to goose carts then back again - I always think it'd be easier with a Maxus. I think that feature would help to aid an upgrade. Be interesting to see what it will be like!
figgy
Winchester dave do the mod on the lift gate so it done bite your thumb it makes it easier and its so quick to unload its silly. Push up the gate and press the mag button on side of action the mag spring pushes them all out in one go. For single cart pull the handle back to spit out the cart and keep it held back drop a cart in and let it close it will ghost loafd the one out of the mag but shoot what you dropped in. Richie10
Speed load on the maxus makes a lot of difference in my opinion. Non of that sticking one in the channel and pressing buttons....
