pigeonblasterian
Met up with Stuart again today for another session ferreting. We met at 0900 and went to a bank in between two ponds the owner wanted us to ferret.Looking at it you would have thought we were in for a really good day again so we got to work putting on purse nets and setting up long nets and stop nets.We only put the purse nets on the easy holes as we had the area closed in with the longnets to catch any rabbit that bolted from an unnetted hole.It took a while to get set up and we only got 11 rabbits in total after all that graft. But the freezer is topped up with rabbits and the ferrets will not go hungry for for a while. dazb1967
The longnetting is good fun, looks like quite a bit setting up.
Velocette
We use the quick set trammel nets rather than long nets and very few escape. The triple layers neatly bag each bunny as it hits the net,,,but best of all,,no bending down to pick up 50 purse nets !!
pigeon controller
Well done great result. Do you not find the rabbits bounce off the long net with the poles vertical, I angle mine so the net is lying on the floor so you get bag in both directions or is that traditional Yorkshire??
