Lloyd90
When training my lab just as she was getting close to you I'd either turn and slowly walk away or shuffle backwards as she was coming in, this then kept her moving forwards and stopped her dropping the dummy just before she got to me. Hendrix's rifle
Out with the shotgun on corvids and pigeon today, she wasn't sure what to make of the first Jackdaw that came down at all! I played with her with it for a few minutes until she picked it up. Once she had picked it up and run around the field a couple of times with it she was happy as anything. Few corvids later and she was getting used to the shotgun and the birds. She even found a pigeon I had given up On! Very tired today though, was out for about 4 hours in total so she got s good run. One thing I have spotted her do, when the gun comes to shoulder she takes a step back and to my side. Also, when I pull the pin back she takes a step closer. Is this Normal? Or her way of getting out of the way?

bigbird
Be very careful sending any dog on a retrieve on a corvid - they've a tendency to come back to life and try to peck the dogs eyes out, nasty beggars!
