ElvisThePelvis
I'm trying to figure out how many rounds I would need to load to cover the costs of equipment, assume good quality middle of the road stuff, a rough idea would help. Thanks
Dougy
Lol Depends on how much you spent on your gear. I would say it's 1/2 the price.
Redgum
Around 500 to 600rnds with decent gear for 243, slightly less for 308 and a lot less for 300 win mag, that's what I calculated a few years back but my rifle didn't like PPU, only likes sako and Rws which is much more expensive. Once you have the press, powder loading and priming kit another calibre will only cost the price of the dies. Its amazing how the time flies by but for me the most important factor in reloading ammo is availability of a bullet your barrel likes. It makes it affordable to have a bit of fun at the range and not worry what the local RFD had decided to stock ( they always seem to be changing suppliers). Its a great hobby too, well better than stamp collecting.
activeviii
a very long time as youll keep adding bits, upgrading, changing. then you change the calibre so more dies and then load developing. I use to reload to try and save a few pence, gave up with that idea as you end up shooting more.

Daveo26
I save £10.20 every 20 rounds reloading vs factory. That's for .22 hornet.
