tonker
Hi Chaps and Chapesses, I don't know if this is ok Mods if not please delete. Yesterday I bought the The uk pest and game caller from the app store it is made by a chap called Aaron Newnham. It only cost £1.99 and has about 80 calls on it. I haven't used it in the field yet ,but am quite impressed with it in the lounge. I'm using mine with a small bluetooth amplified speaker I already had, so as far as costs goes I have an electronic caller for £1.99. If memory serves, the speaker was about £20 quid whichever way you look at it it's a cheap setup for me, It's just seeing what works best. This is just a heads up in case any of you are interested. Cheers, Steve.

tonker
Are there any good ones for Foxes? Steve, there are, deer, red fox, pigeon (not good) magpie goat squirrel crow rodent boar rabbit sheep chicken partridge pheasant mallard and canadian, 3 to six different calls on each. Some I think will work, some I'll never use and some aren't as good, but for the money I think it'll be good.

It's surprising at just what calls a Fox will come into, especially if it's a young Fox. I've called in cub's, using American calls, all to good effect. Grandalf
The olduns on here will remember that a few years ago we had nothing more sophisticated than a piece of polystyrene rubbed on the windscreen. It worked and I still carry mine.

It worked and I still carry mine. Me too. I have homemade 'lollypop' stick ones that work well, and also a few bought ones. The Polystyrene/glass (small mirror) one works very well when I use it. Because I now do a lot of Fox baiting in conjunction with my NV scope, I'm using my FoxPro more often than my hand calls now.
Michael Scotland
I use two wooden clothes pegs with a bit of caset tape along the inside and taped with installation tape at each end works well and all sound slightly different
steve_b_wales
I use two wooden clothes pegs with a bit of caset tape along the inside and taped with installation tape at each end works well and all sound slightly different Magnum ice cream sticks are excellent. I too use cassette tape or the plastic that you get on packet ham. I've also experimented by using dual layer tape etc to try and produce different sounds. tonker
I'm going to be trying this tonight, so many calls I don't know what will work best. Trial and error I suppose and see what works. I'll let you know.
