duke748
Regarding the topic of gunfit - I've been told that in the beginning months it's hard to ascertain what is a good fit due to not have the muscle memory for a consistent mount. Valid or not?
jeffjjack
My two peneth worth... First gun larouna o/u 14 1/4 LOP... thought this gun "fit" me and shot what I thought was ok for me (about 50% of targets) Now shoot a Browning 725 Game with a LOP at 14 3/4 as over the years I have improved my mount, stance, footwork and shooting style. As have only ever had one lesson and have been self taught (and self corrected) the correct shooting style was acquired over time. With lessons this would have been shorter but in my experience when I first picked a gun up in a shop I was not stood correctly or mounting it correctly to accurately judge the LOP was correct. I could tell you cast was more or less ok but not LOP. BTW No issues with my 725 in regard to rust

Valid or not? Absolutely valid, something that I have recently discovered is the mid bead. This helps align the gun correctly and therefore your muscle memory will develop with a correct mount.
