Simuk
Hey Guys/Gals quick question Been doing a fair amount of research regarding recipes for shotshells and it would appear that our cousins across the pond make tapered hulls and wads which are much more powder efficient. Question is, do we have a source for AA hulls and wads in the UK or Europe that isn't a complete rip-off?

deershooter
Winchester used to load AA compressionformed shells in Europe but when the machinery wore out it was not cost efficient to replace with US made equipment so production stoped Deershooter
Simuk
BAH HUMBUG! I get the picture guys thankyou. With powder £80/kg over here I'm afraid I will continue to look at the US hulls with envy.
greenergp
Get yourself a copy of the Cheddite loading manual, quite a lot of the shells/hulls used on the american forums are Cheddites or variants of. If you use the cheddite manual you will find loads with easily sourced components that you can get in the uk eg VP53 wad £7.50 for 250 and others, the hardest thing i have to accept is the shipping cost for primers and powder which can double the cost of the goods. Or you could buy the components direct from the USA but you will find shipping cost will cripple you, i looked at an item a few weeks ago the item cost £10 but the shipping on it was£30 and it was only a hat Edited March 9, 2017 by greenergp
