wandringstar
hi, ive got a super low mileage 2008 astravan, which is one of the best vans I have ever had, I got it last October and its been faultless, but as of last night, as the heading says, the key fobs (both) wont lock the van anymore, I did the obvious and changed the batteries, did the silly so called fixes shown on youtube, the central locking works when you are sat inside with the doors shut, with the button on the front vehicle console, so I know that the locking works. This takes me to a problem with a receiver which isn't receiving the key command. The van is ridiculous in the sense that I cant lock and secure the vehicle manually as the passenger door has no manual door lock and the tailgate also, never known anything so crazy as not having a back up for security if the fobs let you down. Any suggestions please. thanks, wandringstar.
sportsbob
Sounds to me like it may be a fuse for the locking system because I would expect all the doors to lock if you use the key in the drivers door. ?
bear-uk
My Van is doing the same. It wont lock using the fob but unlocks fine. Luckily there's a switch inside that locks the doors and I can use the key in the drivers door. They must be crappy remotes on 08 Vauxhalls. wandringstar
no, as I said in the post, the central locking works fine on the console, its just not working via the fob or manual key.
sportsbob
I found this on another forum. Listen this a long shot.....but when I had me old Astra G I had that problem...I think the manual suggested that I put the key in the ignition, turn it to the last click so that all the info lights come on....y'know just before turning the car over...and at that point ...press the locking part of the key whilst it's still in the ignition barrel....It worked for me! Maybe worth a try!

Stonepark
No rear tab to the handle to come off to reveal opening for key or key hole under handle flap for emergencies?
