However I have spoken with a dealer this week who advised me that the forend should never be fully removed from the mag tube. This apparently can cause wear to the plastic forend. The forend nut should be removed, with the barrel and forend slid forward, the the forend itself should remain on the mag tube. I'll check the instructions later and see if it mentions anything.
