Totally agree, we get loads of emails from BASC, but when something as important as this lands on us we get nothing!!! Very disappointing.

Hi. I went yesterday. It was ok, not as busy as last year (also went on a Friday). Noticed a number of stall holders missing from previous years, when talking to one stall holder, he said it was due to the extortionate cost of renting the space. Still an enjoyable day out for £18 and I’ll no doubt be back next year. But I’d still prefer Stoneleigh over the NEC.

Hi. I’ve just brought 250 Joker 32g No 6. Can’t fault them for £55.00 They hit as good as Clear Pigeon in my opinion, and a lot cheaper. Best bet is to see what you can find locally.

Hi A little help and advice if anyone can help please. I’ve just purchased a very clean and clearly little used Hatsan Escort Extreme with a 24” barrel for use in the hide. The problem I’m having is the distance that the spent cartridges are being ejected by. I have today measured it with a tape, and they are ejecting by at least 15 feet. This happens with both 28g clay shells and 32g pigeon loads. I’ve owned a Hatsan previously, but don’t ever remember them throwing spent shells this far. I compared it today with my Benelli Vinci, and whilst I appreciate this has a different mechanism, the Benelli only manages about 5 feet max. Does anyone know if this is this normal? Many thanks.

My first pair of Aigles lasted 18 years, my mates said I was mad at the time to pay £90 for a pair of wellies. I only replaced them when I stood on a nail and sprung a leak. I’m now on my second paid that cost £130 By the way, my mates who all said I was mad to spend £90 now all wear Aigles!

Thanks for the replies so far. Just to clarify, the SXP Waterfowl is chambered for 3.5” shells, I wonder how many other semi autos with this size chamber will do the same?

If this has been covered before, I apologise. I have a Winchester SXP Waterfowl, I found that I can load 3 65 or 67mm shells into the magazine tube plus 1 in the chamber, making it a 4 shot pump action. As I only have a section 2 shotgun certificate, where do I stand legally?

My mate had the same problem. His gun was returned to Winchester as he'd lost his bolt handle on his first time out with a brand new gun. Winchester replaced the handle under warranty, but this is also very loose. He now loads the gun, removes the bolt handle and carries it in his pocket, not ideal. I was in my local dealer the other day and I was amazed at how easy the handle came out of a new SX4 they had on display. If I was you, I'd return it to your dealer for then to send it back to Winchester.

Not yet. However I have spoken with a dealer this week who advised me that the forend should never be fully removed from the mag tube. This apparently can cause wear to the plastic forend. The forend nut should be removed, with the barrel and forend slid forward, the the forend itself should remain on the mag tube. I'll check the instructions later and see if it mentions anything.

Paolo, I agree with comments, however it is GMK with whom I registered the warranty with and not my dealer. And when my son had a problem with his Samsung mobile, the dealer sent him straight to Samsung to deal with repairs. Any way - moving on, I have received a reply from GMK..... "They are looking into it" I'll keep you posted.

Is anyone else suffering with a loose bolt handle on the new SX4? My mate lost his on the first outing. It was returned to Winchester who replaced it with a new one, but it's still way too loose. We tried a couple of new guns on display at our local dealer and they all came out far too easy. He's now resorted to removing it while shooting, not ideal.

Mine is almost 11 months old, hence why I've reported the problem for a second time. I don't want GMK claiming that after 1 year I'm out of warranty. Just got in from doing 75 clays, stripped the forend off to give the barrel a wipe and the wear marks are clearly evident. Still no response from GMK.

No response from GMK as yet, although it did take 3 days last time. I'm a little reluctant to make some sort of shim up, this is not what I expected on a 11 month old gun. I'll post the response as soon as I get it...

Forgot to mention, I met a guy this morning whilst clay shooting. He had a two year old M2 that looked like it had seen some action, his forend was tight with no movement in any direction. Cheers

Thanks for the replies, I've always got the forend nut as tight as possible, this prevents forward and rear movement. But the size to side movement is still there. I'll wait for a response from GMK and keep you posted.

Hi I have a M2 that I purchased new in April 16, in under a year it's had several thousand shells through it. I noticed some months ago that the forend was starting to develop side to side play, I contacted GMK who advised me that this was normal! That was back in November, and now the movement has cause two lines of wear to develop along the polymer coating of the barell. This will surely eventually allow rust to develop. I have contacted GMK again and I'm awaiting there response, just wondered if any other members have a similar problem.

Having returned my Winchester to my local dealer last week, I've decided I can't wait four weeks so decided to part exchange it and brought a Hatsan Extreme Max, 26" magnum in its place. Used it twice this week and so far so good. Bagged 34 pigeon in two nights. Nice gun for not a lot of cash. I know some people don't think much about Hatsans being Turkish - but it's comes with an "alleged" 3 year no quibble warranty. And after all, where was the Winchester made.... Turkey. I wonder it they will still send me my "free gift"?
