Dried Sloes

After sampling some of my home made sloe gin my mother has asked me to make her some. I don't have any sloes left (other than the ones I used in the last batch) so I was considering buying some. I just wondered if anyone had any experience using the dried berries? Do they work as well as fresh sloes?

I might have some in the freezer if you are stuck and the other half hasnt promised them to anyone else.

The tesco finest sloe gin is almost as good as a decent home one, and wont involve waiting six to eighteen months.

That would be great. Happy to pay for them and cover postage of course.

I know I could buy her some but it would mean more to her if I made it myself.

All blackthorn in flower here in the Midlands and warm, so the bees are doing their job. Should be a good year for sloes. Pick more than you need and freeze the excess. Frozen they work fine. I pour the gin over the frozen sloes and sugar before they defrost. Full of good advice aren't I ? BUT, I don't have any in the freezer :-( or I could have dropped some off for you.
