Shot sizes

Just to help a little more on the topic of setback .... it's a physical phenomena similar to the feeling of getting set back in your seat as a flight tales off. The forces involved are high and can create pinholes in some steel wads, especially with big shot eg the 4.8mm used in this one below.

Im with Smith on this one even gamebore do it in some of there US fast steel loads . I dont go mad but I am quite happy with a row of smaller steel shot just above the wad , for the record cookoff your steel load with A1 powder fits much better with 26 grams of shot much better crimp 95 pellets in 4mm from memory

cheers for the subsequent testing. i still will get that AS / steel load up and running, but time and money.

it is amazing what such economic loads can do.

nb prolly fit slightly better to at +1 grain powder (A1). sadly i`ve mentally drawn a line under that load. if you want to go out on a punt, clay game can recieve a recipe to test, they make it and test it for a small fee.
