Mungler Posted May 8, 2017 Report Share Posted May 8, 2017 Last time I was in Germany (some years ago) they all had outer window steel roll down shutters. They make the houses look a bit ghetto-esque but everyone had them even in the posh areas. I never knew why the houses had them - I thought it might be because of the region (rural) and that people may have had summer / winter houses that needed locking up for extended periods.
