Ferret664
Hi as I've said before on different posts I really enjoy catching trout on buzzers and nymphs . For me that's what trout fishing is really about but all the trout I've caught all mostly seem to come close to the bank (fishing from on boat at grafham ) 0-80 yards out where the water isn't normally that deep I would say up to like 15 or so feet maybe more. I know most buzzers live in the shallower water but will also live in deeper water . so how do you fish buzzers in greater depths 20plus foot ? And is it successful? Any advice would be greatly appreciated Many thanks ferret When I fish buzzers I fish on a floating line and a 18-22foot leader with 3 flies . chesterse
I have done this and use an intermediate line fishing very slowly figure of eight retrieve, watching the end of the line coming out of the end of the rod for takes, like a "swing tip". Ferret664
That's how I normally look for takes when using a floater . Would, you not snag the bottom using a intermediate after a while especially if using expoxy buzzers ? I use a intermediate when fishing the washing line that's been very successful
oldypigeonpopper
hello, i remember doing this with a 11ft rod and long leader in the 1980s, W/F sink tip 5 lines

I use a intermediate when fishing the washing line that's been very successful Depends on the depth you are fishing over, have used this method very successfully at Farmoor 2 in Oxfordshire and other waters. If starts to snag the bottom increase rate of retrieve or go back to floater and weighted point fly.
tomaddy525
I either use a midge tip and two heavyweight size 8 buzzers as the bottom two flies, or fish a fast glass with three buzzers on the droppers and a booby on the point to keep the leader horizontal(ish). If you're wanting to find the depth that the fish are at the midge tip is better as it allows you to have four flies each at a different depth, but if you know what depth the fish are feeding use the fast glass and count down until your flies are in the zone. This way it allows you to keep four flies roughly horizontal in the plane that the fish are feeding.
