The Mighty Prawn
So in a double piece of bad fortune both of the syndicates I shoot in have called it a day leaving me shootless for winter! I know the margins between success and failure is not great especially on small shoots like these but I'm absolutely gutted. Suffice to say if any Midlands folk hear of any openings I'd be very grateful for a tip off
shoot and be safe
How far you prepared to travel and what are you looking for (Walk one stand one, fully driven or walked up)? Sorry to hear about your previous syndicates Edited June 19, 2017 by shoot and be safe
The Mighty Prawn
How far you prepared to travel and what are you looking for (Walk one stand one, fully driven or walked up)? Sorry to hear about your previous syndicates Hello mate Been doing walk one stand one, pretty rough and ready but beggars can't be choosers. Distance wise ideally an hour or so from home? Ironically at the PW clay shoot there was a chap in my group who shoots right by my house but I stupidly didn't remember his name but from memory his shoot is really popular so unlikely to have openings. shoot and be safe
I don't know of any walked up syndicate within an hour but there are a couple of fully driven ones looking for members in the Shrewsbury/Telford area. They are 100-150 bird days. Good luck with your search and you never know, the chap you shot with may read this post and get in touch. rimfire4969
That is very sad. Can you not try and take on one of the shoots even on a smaller scale. Maybe just for 4 or 5 guns walked up? Edited June 20, 2017 by rimfire4969
The Mighty Prawn
That is very sad. Can you not try and take on one of the shoots even on a smaller scale. Maybe just for 4 or 5 guns walked up? Tbh one of them we were playing the long game as the keeper is very old and infirm and has always said when he can't do it any more that someone else can take it on - sporting rights are in his name. However now the time has come he doesn't want anybody else to run it and would rather see a thirty year old shoot just die, stubborn does not cover it but shoot captain was at it for weeks and got stonewalled at every turn so gave up. Such a shame
Rossco89
Out of interest how much is a walk one, stand one syndicate place costing?
rimfire4969
Out of interest how much is a walk one, stand one syndicate place costing? Depends on the shoot and how many birds are released. Somewhere around £300 - £600 per season.
