Vtchobits
Just me being curious but what do you think would be best for the likes of clay and pigeon shooting? Personally if I had a choice i would choose an Izmash saiga 12g. Later.
Oly
Either semi or O/U for me. And congrats on your first post! B)
OldBill
For pigeon- semi. For clay- O/U (some) grounds get funny over semi use for clays. So for both if it has to be one O/U. You may get different views!
naddan28
I was thinking of getting a semi and a OU but I reckon I am just going to buy one nice ou instead of a cheap semi and another cheap ou. Dan
Rascal
If your getting only one shotgun than I would suggest an O/U. These guns are common and accepted in pretty much every branch of shooting, from clays, rough to formal game. A good quality selectable multi choke will give you the flexibility to try out many different types shooting.
throdgrain
I disagree I dont like O/U's, and have never had no problem with my Benelli semi-auto at clay grounds. I followed that advice when I first got my SGC, bought a O/U, had it for 6 months , then got rid of it. Then got the gun I wanted in the first place

Hardy
I disagree I dont like O/U's, and have never had no problem with my Benelli semi-auto at clay grounds. I followed that advice when I first got my SGC, bought a O/U, had it for 6 months , then got rid of it. Then got the gun I wanted in the first place Some clay grounds don't look favourably on them, especially for trap shooting. Some people take that very seriously & don't like empty cases flying towards them in the line. Some grounds use enclosed shooting point too - they may not mind you using a semi but being hit in the face with every empty soon gets annoying!! For a 'general purpose' gun you can't beat an OU multichoke sporter (don't get a trap gun unless you intend using it for little else).
