Yes they do mate- I have one. It took me a few months to figure out but mine is fussy over cartridge length and not charges. Mine will fire the first 2/3 with 65mm carts but no more than that. 67mm it's "okay" with a stoppage now and again but 70mm and above is it's favourite diet.

If it's correct that the deer was semi tame (I don't know) then the kill was very wrong. Culling in a park is acceptable, killing tame deer released into the wild isn't any kind of sport.

Reds are indigenous the the UK (that includes Essex). Humans have taken away their habitat and pocketed them in smaller areas. However, there are more deer in in the UK; especially England, than there have been for a couple of centuries. I used to live in Colchester 20 years ago and can tell you for a fact that seeing Red deer just north of there was not uncommon. Deer will and do migrate but find it difficult when there is insufficient cover to do so over open ground or over built up areas! That Red was taken lawfully. The fact that you see a "king" pigeon that was magnificent wouldn't stop you from shooting it I would suggest, or a rabbit, a hare, a fox or other lawful quarry. Deer cause more damage to crops than foxes do each year, yet the majority of us don't think twice about dispatching foxes and then remarking how large/magnificent the beast was and publishing photos of the kill. I would hope for more balanced and open minded views from fellow shooters.

I've just got my variation through with .223 and .243 added. Despite having over 32 yrs experience with firearms and 8 of those in the Army firing 7.62 and larger, it was decided to attach a mentoring condition for the .243 for deer (no mentoring for fox). I don't yet shoot deer and don't have anyone to mentor me says I. FEO says well that's the condition unless you do the DSC1. Well, I've got the DSC1 at the end of the month and my tickets came through today with the variations for .223 and .243 on stating that I am attending the DSC1. Nothing on there about having to pass, just attend. Result.

It's also 15m from the CENTRE of the highway. This can literally put you within 10m of the road and the anti can't complain they are interrupted etc.

IIRC, their wage loading is due to unsocial hours/days and the danger element. I do recall that getting your hazmat ticket is not cheap either. When I was in the mob, that's was all the RCT/RLC tanker driver's used to talk about - going and earning shed loads for the petrol companies. I don't begrudge them the money. They are doing a jobs that most of us can't or won't. As for doctors getting less than tanker drivers- don't have a laugh. Average earning for GPs now exceeds 100k. As for the mob, no-one stays on base rate for long. When I left I took a pay drop to join my current job. I would now be about to retire and at my projected rank were I still in would be comparable with what I get now.

Looking on here there are a few misconceptions and myths. I used SVO for about 2 years and now biodiesel (not the same thing at all) and have also made BD. If anyone has any specific questions ask away. I'm no expert but a reasonaly experienced practitioner- I've already done most of the experimenting!!.

Hope I've caught you early enough matey. DO NOT run your Galaxy on any mix of SVO- you will ****** it. That engine is the same in my Gal. It's a high pressure engine called a pump duse (PD). I ran on 5% as an experiment and things started to go wrong very quickly. Fortunately I flushed it through and cleaned the injectors but a search on the TDI Club forum showed others had also tried and failed with some people wrecking their engine. My Paj on the other hand ran perfectly well at 50/50 mix with NO mods, coldest I ran it was at -6c (I now run the Paj and the Gal on 100% biodiesel- w/o any mods). 75/25 SVO/diesel is too much for most engines without mods.

"Fleabag. i think he also said they use a Remington 700." Try and keep up. The standard carbine across a lot of the UK is now the G36 carried routinely with a SLP carried also. Depending upon the type of ARV deployed they may well have a sniper rifle as well. In this case that would appear to be the 700, although I've only known the 700 used in 7.62 for police purposes.

Mate, as you will have probably discovered these are like rocking horse doo doo. I gave up and forked out the £40 for a new one in the end.
