Newbie to this
I've also got some hawke medium mounts (bought thinking they would fit but didn't) and they have a 9mm gap which is quite a difference so maybe it depends on the manufacturer. What Make/model are yours?
Walker570
I assume your talking from the edge of the dovetail to the bottom of the ring ... if so the ones I have just fitted to my TX200 are 23 mm give or take .5 mm as not easy to measure . These are Hawke rings to a Hawke Air Max 30mm scope. Edited July 31, 2017 by Walker570
geordieh
Different makes are different heights and the barrel profile can make a difference whether it will fit.Plus the size of the objective lens.I use optilocks lows on my tikka t3 but other makes it needs a medium or high for my Schmidt 8 x 56 Edited July 31, 2017 by geordieh
TriBsa
If your Rings are 15mm high and the scope tube is 30mm diameter, then the centre line of the scope will be 30mm (30mm divided by 2 plus your ring height) above the barrel. If your Objective Lens is say 56mm diameter it will extend 28mm below the centre line (56mm divided by 2) giving you 2mm clearance between it and the barrel. A 44mm Objective Lens would have 8mm clearance.
