Me matt
Has anyone got any advice on joining an external satellite cable? Our current dish is becoming obscured by trees.... trees I've planted. On our house there is a second (unobscured) dish, but the wires have been cut off at ground level, is there any sort of connector for simply joining a new cable onto the cut end? I've checked Amazon but the ones suggested on there look a little tosh tbh, bit like a cheap clear scotch lock- not filling me with confidence ☹ Thanks in advance 👍 MM
Jaymo
F to F connector and some F connectors for each end of the already cut cable and jobs a good un. Available from most diy type stores, just make sure you get the correct F connectors depending on whether or not you have rg6/100 type coax or the much thinner 'shotgun' type cable. proud dad
http://www.screwfix.com/c/electrical-lighting/tv-satellite/cat830560?cm_sp=managedredirect-_-electrical-_-fconnector You need the top two items. Plenty of videos on YouTube to show you how to make the ends off. Either wrap in amalgamating tape or put in a waterproof box.

Wingman
Amalgamating tape works ok but I used heatshrink on mine to totally encapsulate the joint. No need for a waterproof box if you go down this route.
