redial
Looking to buy some 1oz loads 6 or 7 shot for some early season work. (Partridge.) Through 1/2 & 3/4 chokes. Thanks for any suggestions.
neutron619
I used to use Gamebore's "Traditional Game" loading when I started out with a 16ga - they were mild and perfectly good for anything I could hit. I don't know if they make them any more, and I load my own now anyway, so that opinion isn't as up to date as some others you might get later on. I suspect you can't get that brand any more, but I've been (very) impressed with the newer, (presumably replacement?) brand "Regal Game" in 20 gauge. I suspect the performance will be just as good in the other gauges too. Lovely hard shot, medium velocity and they pattern very well. I put an image on the recent 20 gauge thread if you're interested. I'd try those first if I was buying commercial. Go with the #6. Plenty of pellets in that loading, whatever chokes you've got in the gun. Edited August 26, 2017 by neutron619

Guest topshot_2k
Hull Three crowns or Express Special Sixteen is what I use, 28g No6, good cartridges. Hull also do a 32g load if you require something heavier
