Munzy
Could you give me a steer too Flynny please. I want some old wooden beams blasted back to remove the black paint/stain and take it right back to bare wood.

JDog
We had two sides of the house and quite a lot of brick walls sand blasted two years ago. This was to take off various and varying layers of paint and lime wash incorrectly applied on top of each other over the years. We had a lot of difficulty finding someone to do it but eventually found someone in Peterborough which is seventy miles away. He quoted £1600 which we thought was a lot but as no one else was interested we gave him the go ahead. He was very professional and used a great deal of sand/grit of varying sizes along with the right equipment. We were delighted with the end result. A word of warning, the process is very messy and there is a lot of clearing up to do afterwards. If you have neighbours see them beforehand and promise to clean their windows. Wb123
Must take a hell of a cabinet to sand blast a cottage.
