ShaggyRS6
Here's a question. Aero who is now 18 month old seems to get a runny backside in the evening after his evening meal. His first poo of the day is generally fine in the morning but in the day/evening it becomes runny. He is fed at 07:30 in the morning, and then at 17:00 in the evening. His walk time is around 18:30 on weekdays. He does bolt his food much faster than the Lab, they are fed together. I am wondering if I should feed him out of site of the other dog? Any ideas? new to the flock
aswell: what are you feeding, how long from being fed until you are seeing pasties? NTTF
ShaggyRS6
He is Hyper no matter what the time of day  The only time he settles down is after 20:00 He is fed twice a day on the following: Morning - 200G of Butchers Tripe (A UK Dog food) and Gun Dog dry mix, enough to cover the bottom of the dog bowl Evening - As above
v-max
Is the dry food in the evening only as he could be allergic to the food ie a colouring/additive etc.Best thing is if he is only on the dry food at night to stop it & try the other food or get stuff that is just chicken& rice no nothing else but this food is costly.I use SNEYD'S WONDERDOG & is a good dog meal & well put together for working dog's & many diffrent type's.Try www.valefeed.co.uk. Take 2 kibbles of food and throw them into a glass of water for 12 hours. Take a look at what floats on the top at that time......you are looking to see if there are feather bits, skin and any other byproducts. It may be time to change dry food. ShaggyRS6
I will give that a go, however, he has been fed on this at the kennels I got him from, which is not to say he did not have a runny bum then. And yes, he has dry food and the other half of a 400G tin in the evening.

ShaggyRS6
Its strange, because its only runny after he has been for his first poo of the day.
ShaggyRS6
So far nothing has floated to the top. He is on a mixture of meat and dry. Should I try him on a dry only? Vmax you suggested www.valefeed.co.uk. What one should I choose for an 18 month old hypo dog?
v-max
Hello your dog being hyper is a good thing as if you tap into that what a dog you will have.By the sound's of him their is nothing wrong with your dog & is happy as iv had many people complane & blame food etc for dog'd behavour being mad.A few people up here get springer's as pet's with out relizing what there about/bred for & blame food.Dog food is worth billion's in britian & a lot of money & research put into it & is getting better thus dog's get what they need out of it & are happy/hyper/healthyer etc.I use ORIGINAL/GOLD & used to use PREMIUM but the premium is expensive.Any of the 2 i use would do you as i got it for the higher protein in younger dog's to help grow.I change from week to week for the dog's as it must get borring eating the same all the time.Your dog may take a few day's to get used to the food change if you try it.Phone or email them & ask where your nearest dealer to you is. ShaggyRS6
Cheers, I have ordered 2x Bags of Premium
ShaggyRS6
So, my 2 bags of Premium have arrived and I will get him onto the food over a week or so. How much should I feed young Aero. He weighs 14.55 KG, the bag says 6 - 10 Ounces a day, which looks so little compared to the meat and bidcuit he gets at the moment. I guess if we split it up it would only be covering the bottom of his dog bowl twice a day. I am assuming that's right?
