rich1984
Before i click the order button , id like a few opinions on which would be better out of 2 hawke sport hd scopes 3-9×50 or 4-12×50 they are both the same price, going on a AA S200 in 177 and will be used on vermin and plinking. Cheers 3-9×50 4-12×

Ultrastu
If you shoot a .177 jsb 8.4 grn around 775 fps set in high mounts (1.8 inch) And zero at 35 yds (ideal ) then you will need 12 x mag so that your aimpoints on hawkes 1/2 mildot ret work out in 5 yds increments .ie . Zero 35 yds First mark down = 40 yds Second = 50 Third = 55 yds It runs out after this but 55 yds is kind of max for a sub 12 .177 So not a problem The 9x mag of the other scope wont do this and be a pain . Ultrastu
Im not a fan . Of the glass or the rets or the build .
Ultrastu
If you can find a hawke. 4-12 map 6 or an sr6 These rets are far superior to a mildot ret . I looked at one today new for 70quid But I have loads of spare scopes and couldn't justify it .
Guest
Depending on your eyes, x10 mag might be better/clearer. Its what I use and zero at 30y. Every half mildot is 5y; 2md for 50y max. If you zero at 35y you will need to use hold-under on some distances (which I dont like using).
