oldypigeonpopper
hello, i find that getting a decent zero with my day scope a Hawke rimfire L/R and changing to the Photon now can be a problem, i dont have a realy decent area, but use a very good back stop and paper target in the field but last time was to windy,, any advice if the above are ok and which type,
Rewulf
Ive used various types, with the brass cartridge type laser being the best. But.. it will only get you on paper. A bore sight is just that, it will not zero your gun, it will get you somewhere close. Unless you are doing something strange when you swap scopes, they really shouldnt be that far out, not perfect ,but probably as close as the bore sighter. Rewulf
thanks, yes just on paper but may help to get a more perfect shot in the range i shoot at It might help ,but theres so many factors involved, scope alignment (is it perfectly parallel ?) the way you pull the trigger may very slightly move the gun, recoil and anticipation of recoil, bullet drop ect. I only use mine when Ive changed scope or mounts to save cartridges, but even if you get windage right ,it never seems to translate to when you actually fire a round! Rewulf
hello, yes your right there is more to understand, i have my photon zero at 50 yards and get 1 inch groups but thought i could do better Depends what youre shooting but if we are talking .22lr , depending on the ammo and with a photon (which are not unknown for zero errors) that could be as good as it gets I m afraid.
