DanBettin
Looking to purchase a semi-auto. The chap who's selling it to me mentioned it was still under warranty until next year. Am I right in saying that any issues are covered by the manufacturer during this period? I'm buying this gun privately, so there's no shop to take it back to with any problems. That said, if the warranty covers I'm that little bit happier. Thanks a lot for any advice on this

DanBettin
Most warranties only cover the original purchaser. Glad I asked. I didn't think this would be the case but thought it a possibility. Thanks a lot for the reply mate! mickmep
depends on the manufacturer, some are covered, some not, probably best to speak to the importer. I've bought second hand beretta's that have had a transferable warranty that GMK have transferred over. not many do though, as Steve has said most are for original purchaser only. what make is it, someone may know. Thanks the info mate. Hatsan. Seller seems genuine, and most of the reviews I've read of the hatsan semi-autos (in this price range at least) are not too bad, but there are a few reporting cycling problems. I don't want to put a few hundred into one to then have no shop to take it back to. Appreciate there's a bit of a risk with any purchase but more assurance I can get in terms of cover the better. Thanks again

Thanks again Hatsan Escort shotguns are imported and warrantied by Edgar Brothers. I know with my FAC version, the 3 year warranty (now expired) only covered the original purchaser (myself) You could contact Edgar Bros' and ask them about the warranty. http://www.edgarbrothers.com/

DanBettin
Thanks again. Did as advised, contacted them directly and they said it wouldn't be covered. They got back to me withing 3 minutes of e-mailing, impressed with that.
bostonmick
Think it would be more impressive if they replied that they would transfer.gmk/beretta stand by their product nomatter who owns them.now that's impressive.
