loriusgarrulus
Not used it on any of my dogs, but I have heard the effects can last 12-18moths. As long as it doesn't stop normal developement as that could cause long term health problems.

Judging by your predictive text sample it was necessary.
Sprucey
I have a Chemically Castrated Cocker.. he is 2 and a half. Can't speak higher of the effect. It lasts 6 months, but we paid for 12months... So he is going for a 2nd implant next month. His temperament has improved ten fold. Like a different dog. Before he was very head strong and his male instinct was very much the main behavior... Had a real job with training etc. But now we have turned a corner and penny has dropped. Plus having a young bitch not spayed is another reason. It was said to us that even with the implant he may show all the signs of an intact dog when he meets an in season bitch... I.e. won't leave her alone etc. WELL..... our bitch is in season now, she is a tart. he has presented herself to him quite a few times over the past week... and his reaction? Oh go away.... not bothered the slightest! Best bit is... If we want to use him for stud we just wait till implant has expired.
