steve_b_wales
Long Story! My wife had a renewal quote this morning from LV, priced at £250:20. She went onto 'Comparethemarket.com' and Admiral offered the same policy for £212:00. She then contacted LV to see if they could reduce her quote, which they did - by £1:03p. They would not give a cheaper offer, so my wife said that she would not be renewing her policy when it expires in January. She then went ahead to take out the policy with Admiral, and, when she went to pay online, her payment 'could not be taken'. She contacted the number given, and because she made a genuine mistake when giving the date (she gave the wrong month) of when someone bumped her car and drove off, she was then quoted £278. When she asked why it had gone up, she was told, 'because you gave out wrong information', and, 'extra admin fees' would be added', bearing in mind that she had not paid anything for that policy. So she told them 'where to go'! She then went back onto the comparison website, entered the same details are previous, and a quote came back from LV (her original insurer) for £178:60. So she is now insured with LV for £71:60 less than the renewal quote they sent her, and could not reduce it for less than £1:03!
hodge911
its a joke nowadays insurance companies no longer reward loyalty but my gripe with comparison sites are that they take your details to get your quotes but then sell them on to other tele-marketing companies this I know as fact because when I got a new mobile number I kept it to my contacts numbers and family members only ................ apart from when I looked into car insurance renewal on go compare and a few days later I was inundated with all the **** pip , deafness , pension ect ect calls on it the only place they could of got my mobile number was from the comparison site as I put my mobile number in and not my home number ever time I asked the caller where they got my number from they hung up
bruno22rf
I NEVER give my mobile number - if the page will not forward until you do then just make one up.
