JDog
Even these parts on the east coast are getting some sunshine, not the 30 degrees of elsewhere but a nice 20 degrees and bright. An early start to the coast (30 minutes away) was a readily agreeable option for my wife and myself. We had two hours amongst the dunes watching Meerkats (Clodhopper will explain) then on our walk back we came across masses of orchids. There must have been five different species at least. It was a wonderful sight.

chrisjpainter
Ah cool. that's a good haul. My reserve is a real orchid hotbed in the south (15 or so species) and it seems for some species this year's been excellent. Common Spotted and Pyramidals have always been good, but the flies and early purples have been great too. Lovely to see them doing well elsewhere!
