Markio
i bought 6 half shell decoys. Had a crack with that using natural cover for a while then bought a camo blind. I made up the poles from electric fence poles but you can get cheap washing line poles from Wilkinson apparently. Don't go out and spend **** loads. Get some decoys and have a go, the more you go out the more you learn and you'll figure out what you need to spend your hard earnt cash on. I'm still learning but haven't spent a bucket load on the wrong things in the process.
lozrob
as soon as you get some dead birds swop them for the plastics in your pattern. much better , just keep adding the dead birds as you go. what ever hide you use remember to keep still . Cranfield
If you don't want to spend money on new decoys from the start, have a try at making your own floaters/bouncers. If you use the Search facility you will find some ideas on how to make them. You can keep a few pigeons in the freezer for use as decoys on these. Also Boot Fairs often yield cheap decoys, cammo clothing and cammo nets, definitely worth a browse round.
Merman
I normally go out with ex-army camo clothes, dark gloves and my face covered. I've got a hide, but I normally just back into a hedge and wait. I've got 5 half-shell decoys and knocked up a bouncer the other day using a piece of hazel. I'm currently thinking about making a wind-powered flapper to pull in more birds. It all seems to be working fine and bring in enough pigeons for a few meals. I'd love to have a pigeon magnet, but I can't justify the expense. Merman
