Lancs Lad
face veil........ Sod the rest of your body................. I dont tend to get bothered by them much when moving................when I was in the forces and lying up waiting for an ambush I used to get plagued by the midges............the lovely stuff they give you in the army didnt work........so I just reverted to a head net and problem solved............ Not bothered about the hands and other bits......just ears and face......

Floating Chamber
I sympathise! My worst experience was Cup Final day, May 1962. 15 yrs old and shooting by a swamp. Just watched them on my hands and legs. First time I'd encountered them 'knowingly'; my parents always told me they were 'heat lumps' - caused by eating too much ice cream! Next day I was ******. I was covered! Had one bite near my eye. Looked like I'd been hit by a car! Even had one on my willie. Pain first, then the awful itching! Took me 20 years to discover Piriton! Learned a lot about Culex-Culex and Culex Molestus since! Little ********!

Vtchobits
What I normally do is just have a cigarette, although I havnt tried this with mossys it works quite well on midgies i think. Just my thoughts, and yes, i do realize that you would have to chain smoke to keep them away for longer than a few minutes
