JDFrain
this may sound a bit daft but i understand that you can train a domestic fert to use a cat litter tray. just wondering if anyone on here does anything similar for their working ferrets, an old uncle of mine told me when he was younger he had a peice of chicken wire cut into the bottom of his hutch and the ferts eventually learnt to use this as there toilet area... the only reason i post this is it becomes a bit of a pain when the little bliters ****E in every possible corner even in the bed area. cheers john

Ferret Master
Hi, Mine are litter tray trained both outside and inside. Ferrets normally **** in the corner as far from their bedding and food as possible. Put as large tray full of cat litter there as possible and hopefully they should use. Make sure its scooped out daily. Put a couple of bits of **** in it to start with so they get the general idea. For the litter tray in my lounge for when my little rabbit assasins come inside to trash the house I have it in a corner as yet again they like to use a corner. A couple of bits of **** that they did earlier (bit like Blue Peter ) and positive encouragement with an edible treat when they use it will make sure they continue to use it for years to come.
