jeff8861
I have an Anchultz.17hmr stock believe it may be in walnut not sure as it has a dark brown stain on it . I don’t like the look of it and would like it stripped and re done. I’m open to what can be done and the style.

welshwarrior
Telf thank you for the kind words. Sounds like your looking for a complete strip and refinish is what your after. Some factory finishes are very hard lacquer and take some shifting. Once you’ve got it down to bare wood there are lots of ways to finish it and we all have our own, after you’ve done a few stocks you really get a feel for it. however all have one thing in common and that’s the prep work must be done right for that finish
jeff8861
Yes full strip just watched the slippery ***** you tube video from the start to the end of the process. Might give that a go nothing to loose it’s a mess already
