new to the flock
This one is done with a Willow stick, outer bark stripped, while red inner bark has been left on. Topped with a Whitetail Dear Antler fork. This one is an Iron Wood stick, bark left on, and topped with a very nice Fallow Deer Antler.....Thanks HenryD. Both are waxed finished and have a brass ring on top and a shotgun brass on the bottom. I really need to buy some brass etched collars Well unless I can find a couple of sticks up in the rafters that I have forgotton about that will be it for awhile as I was unable to get out and cut any last fall due to being sick. It looks impressive. LB That is a stump and root system of a white pine. In the early days when the land was being cleared the homesteaders would build their livestock fences of these. You still find fence renaments every now and then along old fields usually where they meet up with wood lands. That one sits in one of the flower gardens by the house.
