Dear all

With quite a bit of rape about which has been poor in many areas due to flea beetle, has anyone had any success decoying on thin or flat patches at this time of year ie 3/4 weeks before it is cut?

Would be interested to hear of anyone’s experiences and or success.

Many thanks

Are pigeons feeding on any of it?! You can shoot them on all manner of crops at odd times if they’ve decided that’s where they want to be!

They’re hitting the barley here though, although I did shoot just over 100 last Thursday on fodder turnips (sheep food).

Yes thanks fellas and yes enjoyed watching your vid JM. I’ve only got rape and wheat and I’m away at the moment until Friday hence throwing the question out on here as I was getting myself all worked up with the prospects of some summer pigeon shooting and was wondering what the likely hood might be on standing rape (albeit very patchy standing rape).

It’ll be cut in a few weeks though so not long to wait for a better potential (ie more likely) opportunity. 👍 I will still venture out on Saturday to see what’s going on where.
