Politeness

Politeness costs nothing other than a few moments of time.

Perhaps all those who post on here and other forums elsewhere might remember that.

In the last 6-8 weeks I have added positive comments to 9 posts yet the original instigator of the post has not thanked me or seemingly even noticed my response.

I have also sent various items to folk FOC (including postage) yet 2 of the 5 recent occasions have never bothered to say ‘Thanks’ let alone tell me they have received them.

I have had to send another email to ensure the items arrived.

Please can we all try to be a little more responsive to those that offer help even if the help offered or received is not always as required.

I have given quite a bit of stuff away on here and have always had a thankyou from the person concerned, that is not the reason I do it, but it only polite to do so - I wouldn't dream of not thanking someone.

I gave something to someone on another forum recently (P&P at my cost) and I had to chase them up just make sure they had received it, very poor in my books.

As for advice, I agree with Nick MRY and good few others are knowledgable and very useful contributors to this forum, and being able to tap into those resources for nothing is something that shouldn't be taken for granted.

I totally agree - politeness costs nothing and by the looks of it some of the gear MRY and Stuart has sent out does not cost either, if these guys have the generosity to give you stuff then you should have decency to at least thank them.

Did my spring kit get there?..... <_<

Well, i may not have been here very long, but i like to think that i am a polite and pleasant person, and i firmly believe that manners cost nothing, but can get you everywhere if used properly.

A lesson i am working very hard to teach my 2 1/2 year old at the moment, and it seems to be paying off! Everyone comments on his manners, so we must be doing something right!

I have said this before on here, but like when I was growing up, our son gets nothing unless he asks for it properly and says thankyou.

We have only ever had glowing reports from his friends parents after he has visited and on his school reports.

Costs nothing, but speaks volumes about a person IMHO.
