Pushkin
I'm looking to get a new dog soon and I'm trying to sort out the kennel/run situation as soon as possible. Does anyone have any companies they would recommend keeping in mind I'm a realist and am not looking to spend thousands on this - apart from that I'm a Scotsman and we're supposed to be tight fisted as well. I've been looking at this company http://www.stusanimalhousing.co.uk/construction.htm and quite fancy their wedge design - especially as they have it on offer at present. Bear in mind it will be a springer pup I get and I know they need lots of exercise etc; do you think the 10 x 4 would be adequate for one during the day when we are all at work?. I'd appreciate your thought and comments folks. Pushkin

whitey
My first one came from Kevin Payne, on 01205 480634, in 2005. I thought it was a fair price, similar design to what you're after, and I was very impressed with their customer service. I had - very foolishly - thought that my new Labrador puppy would happily live in the house with my wife and very small children (we don't have a very large house and I'm not terribly bright). After a week of utter domestic chaos, I tried to repair and use an old dog run of my Dad's, to no avail, but Kevin was on stand-by over the weekend I attempted the repair - which I failed dismally - and took my order on the Sunday afternoon. The new dog run arrived and was put up the very next day, thus preventing my impending divorce. I can't find a webpage for him, but I seem to remember his being located in Lincolnshire. v-max
Hello i got my section's from caninekennel's & made my own boxes from 19mm marine-ply to my size.I found canine the best priced at the time & got 2x@1.5m 8cm bar & 2x@2m 5cm bar & gate @1.5m 5cm bar & 1x@ 2m 8cm bar & gate @1.5m 8cm bar.I have cut the hole in bar's as i required or you could get a shed 4ftLx4ftWx8ftH thus you only need 2xside's & 1 gate.I would recomend the section's after year's of dog's eating wood.Must admit if i hade the ground & money would like the fancy 1's in Reeves add with the 5/6 run's or a couple like Mrs Sweepy for 4 dog's. Pushkin
Folks, thanks very much for your thoughts and ideas :( Sadly the cost of delivery from Stu's site was a bit on the high side - even he commented on how much it would cost for delivery up to my place. Give him his due though, he is due to attend a shoot up my way this Sunday and offered to rent a van and leve the car at home and deliver for almost half the real cost. Unfortunately the ground isn't even cleared yet and then there is the concrete base to lay and so on. A really top notch guy though for offering to build to my spec and deliver it on a day off - I take my hat off to him I've had a look at the panels on offer at Canine kennels and they look like the DBs and at a reasonable price as well. Given that a local joinery firm who supposedly does lots of dog runs has just today quoted me £650:00 for a similar one to that I looked at on Stu's site (that's right £650:00!!!!!) _ I'm leaning more and more towards building my own using panels from Canine. I'll keep you all posted on what I decide and how it goes if I go for the self build idea. Once again - thanks for the input Pushkin

Pushkin
Ah - YP - she already knows who the boss is :( I can and do tell her everything she needs to do and when to do it - and that is why I have so many bruises and battle scars Pushkin
