Cranfield
They are well into the wheat harvest round here and the pigeons seem to be favouring the wheat stubbles over the rape stubbles and harvested pea fields.
cloudwalker
It's all over the place here. Last week I was shooting over Rape stubble and all the birds had crops full of wheat. Today, shooting wheat stubble in a different location, they were full of Rape seed. These wouldn't really decoy either. Tried everything Magnet, Flappers, Bouncers. Moved them, took them down. Nothing really pulled them in. Thats just the way it is sometimes
malkiserow
Last week I was seeing crops of my shot pigeons with mixed rape and barley in them. This week either only rape or only pea Just seen first of the local wheat being cut this afternoon ........ Now I am confused ..... so what will the pigeons do next ? Weave
i personally think that at this time of year, (with all the stubble) that there is so much grub about and so much time for them in which to eat it, that decoying can be difficult at times. when they start ploughing it in it might be a different story when there are only a few fields of stubble left.
