DUNKS
Hi what's the best reasonably priced reloading tool for 12g which incorporates an adjustable preload on the wads. I have a lee auto load but have trouble getting the wad pressure constant for a perfect crimp. Any suggestions please.
sitsinhedges
You should only need minimum wad pressure on modern cartridges.
DUNKS
THANKS. I am loading black powder which is compressible and it's easy to get a variable wad height. Especially with a large felt wad. I do need a tool which will give me a constant height. Thank you for your help though. figgy
Dunks, Work out where the perfect height is and make a stopper for the handle. Pile of books or a bit of dowel. This will give you repeatability and consistency I am of the I'll just give it bit more pressure to make sure and bulge the case. Now I try to keep even on all and it works fine. DUNKS
Thanks Mr Figgy that does sound like a plan. I did once see a youtube "American" of a loading machine with a settable gauge on the wad rammer seemed a good idea. Cant find it again of course. JUST SEEN THE SIMPLE ANSWERE. A block of wood under the final crimp head. Set at the correct height. Why the heck did I not think of that. Edited December 15, 2019 by DUNKS BRAINWAVE.
