pav
I have a wildfowl identification test tomorrow which I need to pass to join my local club so am busy swatting up on ducks, geese and waders. I am quite confident on the ducks and geese but may struggle on remembering all of the waders - if anybody has any tips they would like to share I would appreciate it. tosspot
Only with shells loaded with "the force" mungler uses them quite a lot with varying degrees of success

pav
It went very well thanks I think he was surprised when I knew all about the Darth Wader - when I proceeded to tell him I would only shoot them using carts loaded with the force he was very impressed. For some reason my name on the membership card is Luke B)

Suffolk shooter
Does that mean you can shoot with the old man now, I do sympathise. Reminds me of the first time I went out with MC and two of his friends. On the outward journey in the boat to the marsh, I thought I would show a keen interest in the various waders on the salt banks as we rode by. Over the noise of the engine, I said "Whats that bird over there", the reply from David (MC's Mate) at the front, came back "Toots". Ok, fine i thought, never heard of them before, but what do i know, thinking it may be a local slang name for a type of wader or that i had misheard him over the outboard noise. Further along there were some definately different waders and so "What are those ones then", "Toots" came the reply from the front. MC turned to look at me and I must have had a rather perplexed look on my face as he started to laugh and said "Toots, thats the name we give to any bird we don't know". MC
Clean your ears out SS, It is "TOOKS" not "TOOTS" A Took is a local name for a small wading bird, It is used for all birds that you either don't recognise or don't know the name of. It is a bit like calling all species of ray (Thornback etc) "ROKER".
Mungler
You see, these inbreds have their own language. I have seen the Hills Have Eyes and yes, they have a nuclear facility or two in that neck of the woods.
MC
Mungler, You are a bit to close to cockneyland to start throwing stones, "apples and pears" "Frog and toad" diamond geezer and all that. Inbreds my A**E, that all stopped when we got streetlights, you can now see who you are with B)
