Martlandhw100
I got a second hand dive bottle at the weekend I was just wondering when the test date runs out can it be retested or do I have to get rid of it? The test date is November this year.
Dave at kelton
It can be retested if you take it along to a dive centre they can usually arrange. Not cheap but required if you are going to have it filled commercially.
B725
I get mine retested but only when it's down on pressure even if it's way past it's test date.

OK that's fine thank you I take it to a dive centre to get it filled so I'm sure they would be able to re test it 👍 50 minutes ago, B725 said: I get mine retested but only when it's down on pressure even if it's way past it's test date. Have they never said anything with it being past its test date?
B725
No they have never mentioned it I just tell them it's for my air rifle.
Dave at kelton
Just now, B725 said: No they have never mentioned it I just tell them it's for my air rifle. I am staggered I don’t know of any that would behave that way as it’s a health and safety matter. You are dealing with a potential bomb if it burst under pressure of refilling. B725
It does get tested before refilling I'm sorry if I didn't make that clear.
Dave66
I took a bottle that was past its first test date by a couple of years, it failed test with stretched threads where the valve screwed in (they showed me this using the thread gauges) the only feedback was that if I had taken in on time, I may have been able to get a warranty contribution from the bottle supplier, I will get my new bottle tested on time.
